A small city with a large reputation, Wellington is New Zealand’s capital, both constitutionally and culturally. Its compact CBD vibrates with museums, theatres, galleries and boutiques, and it has thriving coffee and craft-beer scenes. Hemmed in by steep forested hills, punctuated by swathes of quaint Victorian houses, the city clings to the shore of its stunning harbor. It has a beautiful botanic garden and is home the New Zealand’s only funicular railway.

Opposite the Museum of New Zealand, Te Papa Tongarewa, is the quirky art-filled hotel Museum Hotel, an establishment popular with domestic and international guests, alike. Room décors range from classic to contemporary. Some have balconies or patios, and suites offer kitchens. All rooms feature 42-inch flat-screen TVs, free WiFi and iPod docks, as well as Nespresso coffeemakers. The hotel also offers a fine-dining restaurant with a cocktail bar. Other amenities include an indoor lap pool, an exercise room and a sauna.

DAY ONE

PM Arrive into Wellington Airport off your International flight. Pick up your rental vehicle from Avis and depart to your accommodation.
After you check in at your accommodation at the QT Museum Hotel we advise you to explore the city by foot. Through our local knowledge we have put together a walking city tour. This will keep you within 20 minutes walk of the Hotel at all times.
Dinner will be reserved at the Hippopotamus Hotel which is located in your hotel.

DAY TWO

AM Check out of your accommodation and depart in your rental vehicle to Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club. Approximate drive time is 1 hour.
Arrive at Paraparaumu where the team will greet you and give you the rundown of what to expect on the course.
PM After golf depart north and enjoy lunch at Rathmoy Lodge on route to Taupo.
Arrive at either Huka or Kinloch Lodge. Dinner will be in house at the accommodation of your choice.

DAY THREE

AM After breakfast depart to the golf course at Kinloch for your morning round. Lunch will be served at the clubhouse after your round.
PM Your afternoon will consist of the following activity options:

  • Lake Taupo boat cruise, which includes a history of the area, fly-fishing and skeet shooting.

  • A trip to view the all mighty Huka Falls (pictured below) and a Jet Boat tour of the falls.

Dinner will be in house at the accommodation of your choice.

DAY FOUR

AM After breakfast depart to the golf course at Wairakei for your morning round. Lunch will be served at the clubhouse after your round.
PM Your afternoon will consist of the following activity options:

  • Fly fishing on ground with an expert local guide.

  • Lake Taupo boat cruise, which includes a history of the area, fly-fishing and skeet shooting.

  • A trip to view the all mighty Huka Falls (pictured below) and a Jet Boat tour of the falls.

Dinner will be in house at the accommodation of your choice.

DAY FIVE

AM Checkout of your accommodation and depart in your rental vehicle to Cape Kidnappers in Hawkes Bay. Approximate drive time is 2 hours. On arrival if an early check in is unavailable we will store your bags at the lodge, and the team will transfer you to the clubhouse for lunch.
PM Tee off for your round of golf at the top 100 course in the world, Cape Kidnappers.
Dinner will be served at the Lodge at Cape Kidnappers.

DAY SIX

AM Checkout of your accommodation and depart in your rental vehicle to Wellington. On route 3.5 hours into your journey we have reserved lunch at Poppies restaurant in the wine village of Martinborough.
PM Depart Martinborough for Royal Wellington Golf Course. Approximate driving time is 1 hour.
Tee off at Royal Wellington Golf Course for your afternoon round.
A special dinner will be hosted at Royal Wellington.
Depart in your rental vehicle to the QT Museum Hotel in Wellington.

DAY SEVEN

AM Checkout of your accommodation, and depart for your tour of the following:

  • Te Papa Museum (National Museum of New Zealand)

  • The famous Cable Car ride

  • Boomrock experience (pictured below)

PM Lunch has been reserved at the Maranui Cafe in Lyall Bay near Wellington Airport.
Depart for Wellington Airport and return your rental car at Avis. Check in for your return flight home.
