ITINERARY

Auckland is New Zealand’s biggest city and is frequently rated as one of the world’s top cities for quality of life and livability. Squeezed between two glistening harbors, Auckland’s narrow isthmus is home to one third of the country’s population – and for good reason. Known worldwide as the City of Sails, its center is a vibrant melting pot of style and culture, and its buzzing waterfront precincts are home to world-class dining and shopping experiences.

ACCOMMODATION - ONE NIGHT

DAY ONE

8:55am Arrive at Auckland International Airport on UA917. Your driver will greet you at the arrivals hall and transport you to your Hotel on Auckland's waterfront.
11:00/11:30am Arrive at your accommodation and check your luggage into your accommodation. We will request for an early check in.
12:30pm Enjoy the afternoon at your own leisure. Eighth Wonder will provide you with a list of attractions, restaurants and places of interest to visit.

Mangawhai Heads is a popular beach-side community located half way between Auckland and the famous Bay of Islands, approximately 90mins drive north from the city. It's also the home to the exclusive Tara Iti Golf Club, designed by Tom Doak, and recently ranked the 11th best golf course in the world.

DAY TWO

9.00am Checkout of your accommodation. Depart by private ground transfer to Tara Iti. 
*Total drive time is 1 hour 45 minutes. 
12.00pm Lunch at Tara Iti. 
1-2pm Tee off at Tara Iti Golf Course. 
7-8pm Dinner will be served at Tara Iti clubhouse.

DAY THREE

8:00am Tee off at Tara Iti Golf Course. 
1.45pm Helicopter pilot will shut down at Tara Iti Golf Course. He/She will then deliver a safety briefing prior to departure.
2:00pm After lunch depart by private helicopter to the Hokianga for your private tour of the Waipoua Kauri Forest.
4:30pm Depart the Hokianga to The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs by private helicopter. 

Day three continues below

The Bay of Islands is one of New Zealand’s most popular drawcards. With its unspoiled coastline, beautiful sandy beaches, turquoise waters and 144 untouched islands, this region enjoys a subtropical climate, and so you can expect warm weather year round. The Bay of Islands Maritime Park is one of New Zealand’s best loved destinations, offering world-class diving and snorkeling, with an array of wildlife including, dolphins, whales, penguins and gannets. It also has great sailing, kayaking and big-game fishing. Not only is the region blessed with stunning natural beauty, it has enormous historical significance, as the site of New Zealand’s first permanent British settlement and the birthplace of European colonization in the country.

ACCOMMODATION - TWO NIGHTS

The beautifully-designed, open plan Deluxe Suites are the ultimate in relaxation and comfort. Larger in size and elevated for magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean, the Deluxe Suites include a luxurious seating area beside an open fireplace, armoire with flat screen TV and sound system, and large private balcony overlooking the golf course and offshore Cavalli Islands. Set a short distance away from the lodge and close to the spa, tennis courts and swimming pools, the Deluxe Suites can accommodate an additional single bed, if needed.

5:00pm Upon arrival you will be shown around the facility and your accommodation by the team from Kauri Cliffs.

9:00am Tee off for your first round of golf at Kauri Cliffs.

DAY FIVE

8:50am Depart the lodge by private ground transfer to Waitangi Wharf.
9:50am Arrive at the wharf and greet the Captain and crew before departing on your sailing experience of the Bay of Islands. Lunch will be provided onboard.
4:00pm Arrive back at the wharf and depart by private ground transfer to Kauri Cliffs.
6:30pm Pre-dinner drinks with canapés are available at the lodge. 
7:30pm Dinner will be served in the lodge. 

DAY SIX

8:00am After breakfast checkout of your accommodation. 
8:15am Meet outside the main entrance and depart Kauri Cliffs to Kerikeri Airport by private ground transfer.

9:45am Depart Kerikeri to Auckland, courtesy of Air New Zealand on flight NZ8267. 
10:30am Arrive at Auckland Domestic Airport.
*Layover is 1h 15m.

1:15pm Depart by ground transfer to the Farm at Cape Kidnappers.

Day five continues below

An hour’s flight southeast of Auckland is Hawke’s Bay, a region of diverse and magnificent landscapes, from mountains and hill country down to inland and coastal plains. Blessed with fertile, alluvial soils and a warm temperate climate, Hawke’s Bay is home to hundreds of farms, orchards and vineyards, making it New Zealand’s agricultural powerhouse. For the tens of thousands of visitors that flock to the region each year, it’s the food and wine that are the biggest drawcards, and with good reason, as the Hawke’s Bay produces some of the best of both the country has to offer.

The eight Ridge Suites at Cape Kidnappers are deluxe category suites set atop a skyline ridge with uninterrupted across the Hawke’s Bay. Each suite features a luxurious seating area beside a fireplace that opens out to a large private balcony. Close to lodge facilities, including pool, spa and main lodge buildings, the Ridge Suites are beautifully appointed and will make you feel instantly at home.

8:30am After breakfast, the team at the pro shop will give you the rundown of the course.
9:00am Tee off for your first round of golf at Cape Kidnappers.
2:00pm After lunch, depart on your Cape Nature Sanctuary tour to see the ancient Tuatara and endangered bird life. The Cape Sanctuary is the largest privately owned and funded wildlife restoration project of its kind in New Zealand. Click HERE for details. 
3:00pm Following on from your Tuatara Experience you will begin the Kiwi Walk.
6:30pm Pre-dinner drinks with canapés are available at the lodge. 
7:30pm Dinner will be served in the lodge. 

DAY SEVEN

9:10am After breakfast checkout of your accommodation. 
9:30am Meet outside the main entrance and depart Cape Kidnappers to Napier Airport by private ground transfer. 
*Total drive time is 50 minutes. 
10:50am Depart Napier to Queenstown on your private jet, Falcon 2000 LX. 
12:25pm Arrive at Queenstown Airport. 
12:40pm Vehicle and driver will meet you on the runway. Depart by private ground transfer to Eichardt's Private Hotel. 

Day seven continues below

About two-thirds of the way down the South Island, in the middle of the Southern Alps, sits Lake Wakatipu, and on its shores, Queenstown. If ever a town deserves its reputation as the world’s adrenaline capital, surely this place does. You can bungee jump off bridges, take a jet boat ride through white-water canyons, go extreme mountain biking, zip-line through valleys, and paraglide off mountains – you name, you can do it in Queenstown. There is, however, a more gentile side to Queenstown – one that includes luxurious, world-class lodges, superb wineries, great restaurants and scenery to die for… and five international-standard golf courses. This picturesque lakeside town has it in spades, whatever the season, whatever the activity. It absolutely must be part of any itinerary when visiting New Zealand.

These suites offer expansive views over Lake Wakatipu, super king beds and a spacious personal living space featuring a fireplace and deluxe mini bar. There is also dressing room and bathroom with generous bath and double vanity, separate shower, heated mirror and floor, along with an integrated entertainment system and business desk. 

1:00pm Arrive at Eichardt's Private Hotel and check into your accommodation. 
1:30pm Enjoy the afternoon at your own leisure. Our Eighth Wonder guide will be on hand to assist for exploration if required.
6:30pm We have reserved a table at the Grille restaurant at Eichardt’s for dinner.

DAY EIGHT - Sunday 17th March, 2019

10:00am Depart on your tour with Prestige Adventure. This experience includes a 4WD farm station experience.
12:30pm Lunch included at the farm station. 
3:00pm Your guide will provide you with options for the afternoon. This day is totally flexible. 
6:30pm We have reserved a table at Rata restaurant for dinner.

DAY NINE - Monday 18th March, 2019

7:45am After breakfast, gather outside the main entrance at Eichardt's Private Hotel, where your driver will transport you to Over The Top Helicopter HQ.
8:30am Depart on your Ultimate Milford Sound experience.
12:30pm Arrive back at the base and depart in your private ground transfer to your accommodation.
6:30pm We have reserved a table at Botswana Butchery restaurant for dinner.

DAY TEN - Tuesday 19th March, 2019

9:45am Depart by private ground transfer to The Hills Golf Course. 
10:15am Arrive at The Hills Golf Course. 
11:00am Tee off at The Hills Golf Course.
3:00pm Depart for a short tour of the historic mining village of Arrowtown with your guide. 
6:30pm We have reserved a table at White + Wongs restaurant for dinner.

DAY ELEVEN - Wednesday 20th March, 2019

7:30am Depart by private ground transfer to Jack’s Point Golf Course. 
7:50am Arrive at the Jack’s Point Golf Course. 
8:30am Mr Watson to tee off at Jack’s Point Golf Course.
1:00pm Depart in your private ground transfer to Amisfield Winery.
1:30pm Enjoy lunch at Amisfield restaurant.
2:00pm Depart with your private guide to Central Otago for a tour of the wineries.  
4:30pm Depart for your accommodation. 
7:30pm We have reserved a table at the Grille restaurant at Eichardt’s for dinner.

DAY TWELVE - Thursday 21st March, 2019

7:45am After breakfast checkout of your accommodation. 
8:00am Meet outside the main entrance and depart Eichardt's Private Hotel to Queenstown Airport by private ground transfer. 
*Total drive time is 20 minutes. 
9:35am Depart Queenstown to Auckland, courtesy of Air New Zealand on flight NZ0614. 
11:25am Arrive at Auckland Domestic Airport. Transfer to Auckland Intl. Airport. 
2:30pm Depart Auckland on flight UA916 to San Francisco. 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

BAGGAGE HANDLING

Domestic flights allow two bags per traveller with a maximum weight allowance of 50lbs per bag for checked baggage (including golf clubs) and 15lbs per person for hand luggage. Baggage and personal effects are taken at owner’s risk throughout the tour, and baggage insurance is strongly recommended. Please consult your international air carrier for its specific restrictions regarding weight limits and baggage allowance.

INSURANCE

It is advisable that all participants take out comprehensive travel, medical, cancellation, curtailment and default insurance for the duration of the trip. Due to the remote and wild areas that will be visited, it is vital that all participants are covered for emergencies and other unforeseen circumstances. Eighth Wonder Travel will not be held responsible for participants travelling without insurance.

SPECIAL NOTICE FOR GOLFERS TRAVELLING TO NEW ZEALAND

New Zealand's rural-based economy requires strict bio-security, so it is important for golfers to enter the country with clean golf shoes and clean golf clubs. Anyone arriving with golf clubs and/or golf shoes will be diverted to quarantine inspection upon arrival in New Zealand. With clean shoes, clubs, and golf bags/travel covers, the inspection time should simply be a matter of minutes. For golfers with traces of dirt or grass, bio-security staff may clean the items and fines may be imposed on the spot. To ensure a speedy entrance, ensure that clubs, shoes, golf bags, and travel covers are free from dirt and grass.
